Earth Hour - March 29, 2008

Earth Hour 2008 was a remarkable global event, and in towns and cities across the globe people "turned out" to lend their voice to the worldwide call for action on climate change.

On March 29th, people everywhere turned off their lights–to make a statement, to help find new ways to reduce their impact on the environment, and to start a movement that ends with a solution to the common challenge we all face.

Toronto flicked the switch to support its intentions to reduce climate change. And for that one hour on, Saturday 29 March, Toronto’s citizens saw all their most famous buildings cast in a completely new light: City Hall, The CN Tower, Ontario Science Center, Ontario Place, Honest Ed’s, Toronto Eaton Centre, and many other businesses and organizations all supported Earth Hour by turning off their lights.
